Congress Members Who Support HR 848
Congressman John Conyers of Detroit sponsored Performance Tax Bill HR 848, which severely threatens the life of black radio. Black radio owners and community leaders requested a hearing to discuss the severity of the tax and the impact it would have on black radio.
After flatly refusing to have a hearing, Conyers took the bill before committee for vote on May 13, 2009. Within hours of the vote, the devastation began with the three black owned radio stations in Pittsburgh being sold.
That was just the beginning and we need your help to save black radio. Continue reading to find out what other Congresspersons are supporting the bill. Please call, write or e-mail them and tell them you oppose HR 848.
