    Dear Friends

I wholeheartedly support the efforts of Cathy Hughes in opposition to HR 484. I see this legislation as a covert transfer of wealth from Black businesses and communities into the hands of disinterested foreign businessmen by a hand full of people in congress.

Given the harsh economic asphyxiation of our communities here at home, it is not possible for me to accept the harmful and callous effects of this legislation. We should not allow our elected officials that we send to congress to protect our common wealth, to become the nefarious little poodles of foreign interests, bent on destroying our common wealth.

Finally, as a member of the broadcast industry, I see HR 848 as a grave threat to freedom itself. We need radio not only to entertain and amuse, but to arouse, educate, and inform the citizenry on issues critical to the survival of liberty. As President Thomas Jefferson said, “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, it expects what never was or never will be.”

I dont understand this bill. Congress is always tryin to take from the black community just days from apologizing for slavery. They want to take our radio too. Can you say slavery of the 21st century? Congress has had it in for us since we got a right to vote and a civil right act. But history tells us that in the 1700′s, the democrats were once republicans and the GOP were democrats. Interesting isn’t it? We are a democracy, not a republic.
